Kindergarten Expectations
Welcome to Kindergarten! Our goal is to create a positive, nurturing environment where children develop a love for learning. In kindergarten, we focus on building foundational skills in both academics and social-emotional development. Here are some key expectations for our kindergarten students:

Learning and Academics:
- Literacy: Students will begin to recognize letters and sounds, learn basic sight words, and start to read simple sentences.
- Math: Students will explore numbers, shapes, patterns, and basic addition and subtraction.
- Science & Social Studies: We introduce simple concepts such as seasons, the environment, community, and basic problem-solving skills.

Social Skills:
- Learning to work and play cooperatively with others.
- Understanding the importance of following directions and taking turns.
- Developing good listening skills and expressing feelings appropriately.

Behavior Expectations:
- Show kindness and respect to others.
- Follow classroom routines and rules to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
- Take responsibility for personal belongings and actions.

Self-Help Skills:
- Practice independent tasks such as dressing, cleaning up after activities, and using the restroom independently.
- Develop organizational skills by keeping their work area neat and completing tasks to the best of their ability.

- Engage in simple conversations and share ideas with classmates and teachers.
- Ask for help when needed and express thoughts or feelings respectfully.
